You need to select and read at least one text for each of the 4 sections of the monologue reading list I gave you.  Check that you have the list before the holiday!  So that’s one novel, one set of poems, one play and one non-fiction text.  You can use the extracts from the booklet to help you decide what texts you’d like to read, or you can select texts of your own that you feel fit OCR’s definition of a monologue.  Remember to check with me that they’re of sufficient ‘literary merit’ first though!

As you read each one, you need to post an analysis of how ideas and feelings are presented through literary and linguistic techniques.

You also need to comment on as many other blogs as you can – at least 6 others.  Obviously, this means you can’t leave all your posting till the last minute – you need to post as you go, so people have something to comment on!  If you are having technical difficulties, you can:

  • Post a comment on this message to let me know, and I’ll try to fix it
  • Email me by responding to the email address that appears when I’ve commented on your posts
  • Use the edublogs support forums to help you
  • Email me your post and your username and password, and I can try to post it for you

Happy reading!

Hi Miss, I’ve had a lot of trouble posting a comment on my blog. I attempted to do so last week, and it apperared to be posted up when i checked on it after posting it, however, when i went to look if there were any comments/questions posted up, only the title ‘Luka’ appeared on the screen. I posted it up again, and the same thing happened, and i olny realised when Ikhlas informed me that nothing was appearing on my blog.
